Enjoyed working with a bunch of great people. It was better to work with them, than serving with them in the local congregation.
which trade did you work with?

or should i say some things.... reading over another thread and a number of other threads i have to ask, why are we making excuses for jesus / god.. how can you fathom and all powerful god who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:.
1. making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available.
2. that all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion.
C&A, Why did you have to ask such deep questions? I am trying to hold on to the Dream, but it is slowly vanishing as I read the comments to your questions. Oh the PAIN!!!
so the question is posed in this week's watchtower study at our former cult's houses of indoctrination.
i should like to answer it, and i should like to hear your answers too.. the question is in two parts, and i shall address each one in turn.. q. is my life more meaningful?.
my life is more meaningful.
" I am happier, and have medical evidence to prove it. I am on half the antidepressant medication I was as a JW, my anxiety disorder has disappeared, I no longer wake up screaming from nightmares every night (or taking valium to suppress them) and my physical welbeing is increasing."
Wow Julia! I have read all of your postings and I am impressed with your progress this past year! You inspire hope and confidence that there is another life out there.
By the way, How is your husband dealing with your transformation?
okay, in order it goes like this for me............brother peace 1980-83, brother rose 1984-86, brother yasko 1986-88, brother sekella 1988-91, brother billy ford 1992-95, brother davis 1996-99, brother irskin 2000-03 and then it gets kinda blurry....brother burge and another, brother hairston.
okay, that just about does it.

i have been reading threads about how the rbc operates, so i sort of have a fair idea of what the answers will be.
but i would like to have a more direct answer to my questions.. where do the orders come from that a hall is in need of a remodel, or a new one to be built.. can the elders refuse a remodel or quickly built.. out side contractors are only allowed with rbc approval.
what are the consequences if say a kh needed a new roof, and secular contractor was hired.. is it a case that orders a given that a hall needs a remodel, and that the rbc will have total control, and look out for who ever gets in the way, and elders just have to simply comply.. this is the question i most want answered.
1) In the States, the RBC does an annual inspection of the KH. If you are paying on a loan from the Society, according to the terms of the loan, you must comply with the RBC.
2) The Society loan are 0% on the principle.
3) The RBC makes purchases from Home Depot, which gives them a Contractor's price of 10% off retail.
4) However, the RBC does charge the local congregation a 25% mark up on all materials; for the reason that the RBC uses these extra funds to purchase equipment, trailers, tools, etc.

i will like to share some facts about the spanish congregations in usa.
It has been explained to me that because English is the official language of the U.S., they go first such on signage and such others things.
If we were in Mexico, the English would come behind the Spanish. Although on things such as congregation meetings, goes on a rotation, so that everyone is equal.
the watchtower moan about copyright when people quote or display the shepherd the flock book, but those big margins are there for the info they dare not write in ink, the juicy bits!
being in the margin and penned, are not copyrighted.... anyone fancy copying their margins, or sharing the interesting legal/doctrinal bits and bobs?.
anyone have the time to scan them in?.
I had a bunch of notes in my margins, But I did not expect to be deleted when I met with the Brothers on that night, they asked right there for my book.
Blind sided!
It is standard procedure.
i can't believe hubby and sis in law actually went out in service today.
when he left this morrning i reminded him to inform those who didn't slam their doors on them that if they join your cult that this will be the last christmas, holiday and birthday they will be allowed to celebrate.
i thought it very inapproiate going out today to knock on doors trying to get converts..
The Circuit Overseer is visiting this week, got to support his visit.
